Dermal Fillers

Dermal fillers use hyaluronic acid gel to restore volume. This natural substance restores volume lost due to ageing, restoring the framework on which the skin sits, helps to reduce the signs of ageing and enhances the contours of the face.

• Clean and markup injection points
• Injections – tolerable
• Repeat ultrasound
• Clean off markings and massage
• After photos

• Immediate but further improvements after a few days.
• Lips settle in the days following
• Often very little downtime but at higher risk of bruising
• Lasts 18- 24 months depending on the type of filler used. But filler is often still present at this point even if you feel the effect is gone.

Everyone’s pain threshold is different but most find it tolerable. Numbing cream is applied to skin prior to treatment and most products contain lignocaine (numbing agent) inside too.

I aim to keep my results looking natural and most of the time the results are subtle. Most people won’t be able to put their finger on what is different, even with lips. 

There is a much higher risk of complications than most other treatments. And so treatment should be weighed up carefully and undertaken by someone medically trained and able to prescribe if any complications. These are discussed in my blog and at the time of consultation. 

Yes there is a dissolving agent that can be used in emergency situations as well as electively if deemed the best option.
